We have fully driven road centreline dataset that is constantly being maintained and validated. The data is being collected to sub 0.5m accuracy and we have released (in Sept 2012) all rural roads across the North Island to sub 1m accuracy. Within this dataset, GeoSmart keeps track of whether the road is in public and private ownership and as such can provide solutions to accurately undertake RUC (Road User Charge) calculations.
Using leading edge technology, our RAPIDcV (Road Attributes, Point of Interest, Imagery Data Capture Vehicle) can accurately map the road centreline to sub 0.5m and utilising a 3D inerial guidance system to resolve blank spots in the GPS coverage, undertake differential GPS processing in real time and to capture camber and inclination of the roads enables us to deliver a compelling solution to Telematics and Fleet Management systems. The RAPIDcV has a series of cameras monitoring all aspects of the road and its surroundings, including capturing road furniture, such as street signs and intersection controls, as well as Points of Interest (POI). The data collected by RAPIDcV also measures the camber of corners which will be used in the future truck safety to alert drivers to take extra caution on road corner where the camber angle is not optimal.
